Nikos Keim - Associate

Nikos joined Edmonds Marshall McMahon in August 2016. Nikos was admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland as a solicitor in October 2013, after completing a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Queensland. He immediately commenced working as a solicitor with one of Queensland’s leading criminal defence firms. Nikos built up a broad client base and acted in a diverse range of matters, from simple criminal and traffic offences to serious crimes such as drug trafficking and large-scale frauds.

Nikos has an excellent grasp of the substantive and procedural differences between jurisdictions and found that his time working as a defence solicitor provided him with valuable insight into the tactical and strategic workings of defence cases. This assisted greatly as he made the transition to criminal prosecutions.

Nikos provides advice to clients about prospective prosecutions under the common law, the Fraud Act 2006, the Bribery Act 2010 and the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000. He has assisted on a variety of matters, in both the criminal and civil jurisdictions, researching and writing submissions in relation to costs matters, judicial reviews and criminal prosecutions. Most notably, he acted as disclosure officer and was instructed on one of the largest private prosecutions ever undertaken.

Adept at producing submissions and advices that address complex legal problems in detail and at making high-pressure decisions in the cut and thrust of litigation, Nikos also enjoys the personal side of his work at Edmonds Marshall McMahon and takes great pride and pleasure in assisting clients to understand the complex aspects of criminal litigation and helping them to achieve their desired results.

Nikos has fluent conversational abilities in French, Spanish and Portuguese.
