It is an exciting day here at Edmonds Marshall McMahon! Chambers & Partners have released the 2020 rankings, and all our partners have been ranked highly in both the UK and High Net Worth guides for their respective specialist fields.
For the first time ever, Chambers & Partners have released a private prosecution category, ‘Financial Crime: Private Prosecutions’. Tamlyn Edmonds, Andrew Marshall and Kate McMahon have all been highlighted in the Spotlight Table. This is great news for the Firm and a testament to everyone’s hard work over the years in helping to develop this market.
Tamlyn Edmonds has been reviewed as “incredibly hard-working and has great judgement,” according to market sources. She is well regarded for her expertise in bringing private prosecutions relating to fraud. Kate McMahon is regularly called upon to represent clients in private prosecutions, with particular expertise in fraud cases. One source describes her as “an incredibly imaginative litigator”, while another adds: “She understands the background of a problem and is very smart.”
Sofie Hoffman has been ranked in the Private Wealth Disputes category. Sofie is described by a peer as “an incredibly good lawyer, she’s technically very good.” She advises high net worth clients on trusts, asset tracing and fraud claims, domestically and offshore. A fellow solicitor says: “She is wonderful, she’s conscientious and she goes all out for her clients,” and another market commentator notes that “she is no-nonsense but pragmatic, she’s sensitive but robust.”
